Fuel Up – Suit Up

* Spinach, avocado, banana and lime.

With a green smoothie*  in my system I am ready to rock the road. Swimbikerunyoga camp of Porugal is done fort his time and I am in Sweden again. Soon I will give my first indoor cykling class for this season at the fitness center. Later it’s time for a new introduction course in Kundalini Yoga. Road biking is scheduled in between. High intensity in the morning and calm breathing in the evening. It’s fun to combine fitness and spirituality into a nice blend of blood, sweat and tears… of joy that is. Take care. Enjoy your monday/Jona

soften up

Sunday bloody sunday? Do something soft and nice first thing in the morning.
Your back will feel great and your mind will follow.

1.Leg strech. 2.Spinal flex. 3.Cat and Cow. 4.Baby Pose. 5.Shoulder rolls. 6.Head rolls.
Do each posture for 1-3 minutes. Softly, gently, smoothly, nicely.

Spinal flex variation

This exercise is one of my favourites. It’s short and effective and a great tune up for the lungs and bloodstream. Sit in easy pose. Hold onto your knees with your hands. Straight elbows. Focus through the third eye point. Place your tongue behind the teeth against the back of the upper teeth. Inhale completely and hold your breath. Begin flexing your spine as long as you can hold your breath. Then exhale. Repeat. Continue for 3 minutes.

a bite of nature

You are not eating food; you are eating for your health, your vitality, your energy, your prosperity, your strenght to conquer.

I love to eat fresh, green and raw. A staple in my diet is all kinds of crazy salads with cabbage, fruits, nuts, berries, olives, sprouts or just what I feel for at that particular moment. I mix a plate with a little bit of everything. Ta-daa, done! Today, however, was a big mistake in the Raw Food business. Took a bite of this yellow fruit in the middle of my morning run. It was very soft, juicy and sweet. But stinging!  So now I have been trying to get rid of those “stinging things” from my lips, tongue and fingers for hours. Kind of funny actually. Should be more careful and not so greedy.

Okay weekend, here we go, enjoy yours.

from sea to stars

“You find your path not by thinking, feeling or doing but by surrendering”. -Deepak

Yesterday my bike and I made it from sea level up to Serra de Monte Figo. Felt hot and happy all the way up. Today was a longish run. Still in Portugal and enjoying each moment of meditation and book writing. This afternoon was ocean time all the way. Time to totally mello out, relax, unwind, lay, rest, sleep, recover, do nothing. I am ready a brand new start tomorrow. Good night. Jona.

Still floating

Still floating – now in Algarve, Portugal for a bit of family vacation. It’s hot! So the best place to be right now is in water. I never want to leave the sea once I get in. I think I may start to grow fins.

Big hug from the Atlantic sea.

Yoga Energy&Intuition

Hi lovely people from the mighty Festival of France! This is the fast energy emergency set that I promised to post as soon as I came to Sweden. Well, I am back home in the north now, so here it is. The best yoga set ever. I have done it a millon times since my teacher Bhai Himat gave it ages ago. Thank’s Ji! It improves intuition and gives you a boost forward. Do it anytime you feel the lack of energy. It will bring your life force back in less then 5 minutes. So please go ahead. All you have to do is tune in and do: 1)Chair Pose 2)Frog Pose 3)Bridge Pose 4)Camel Pose. Do each posture for 1-3 minutes with breath of fire. Do 26 of Frog Pose. Keep you eyes closed and focus through the third eye point. When you do Camel Pose you should  keep your eyes wide open and focus up towards the skye. Be love, just be loved, just let go, rice above. Cheers!

Yoga & Sleep Well

Having a bad sleep lately? Try a short yoga set at bedtime or anytime. 4 soft exercises to prepare you for deep sleep. Do each posture with long and deep breathing for 1-3 minutes. Find a quiet spot within. Good luck and good night.

1. Leg Stretch. Bend forward and grab onto your toes, ancles or calves.
2. Bridge Pose. Everythin are at right angles so that your body forms a “bridge”
3. Inhale and hold. Pull as you are resisting an opposing force. Exhale and repeat.
4. Shoulder Stand. Place the hands under the hips for support as you lift both legs up.

Meditation by Guru Dev Singh

A great meditation by the Great One. Try it and reach the state of inner silence.

Sit in Easy Pose with light Jalandhar Bandh. Fix the eyes on the tip of the nose. Bring the hands in front of the body at the level of the Heart Center. Touch the fingertips of opposite hands together. The tip of the thumbs touch the third joint of the Mercury Finger. The key to this meditation is attention to the breath. Inhale competely in 8 equal strokes through the nose. Then exhale compeltely through your teath. Continue for 11 minutes.

This meditation is given by Guru Dev at the Yoga Festival in France july 28th.
